You may say that it is still too early to look forward on the coming year especially when we have no clear idea of how will it be for all of us. However, as what I had experienced when I worked in a printing company, creating a layout for a calendar should be done months before the New Year starts. Imagine how surprised I am when some company asked for a quotation from me on how much we will charge them for a job like a Calendar 2011. You might say there is nothing wrong with that. Well, actually yes, but the catch was, she wanted the job to be done as early June 2010. Of course, deadlines are really set by clients but for me, I thought having a calendar 2011 when we are on a half year only is exaggerated.Then it was explained to me by my boss that it is the common practice in the printing industry. For calendars, there should be a longer time frame for its production unlike with the other printing jobs. Oh well, that was just an experience I wanted to share.
Now that Christmas is just around the corner, people are also anticipating the coming of the year 2011. And yes this time, hearing or seeing stuff like calendar 2011 or other products with the theme of the year to come, I no longer find it unusual. In fact, since I am into doing crafts like Digital Scrapbooking, I am now looking for templates and embellishments with regards to the New Year if ever I find an extra time to do my very own calendar 2011. Actually, I'm thinking of it as a perfect gift for some of my friends and former colleague.
